The Medlock Area Neighborhood Association has released a progress update on the Suburban Plaza redesign, and the possible scenario isn't your typical Decatur strip mall. The request by neighboring residents for something different doesn't seem to have fallen on deaf ears. Accent walls decorated by local artists, permanent kiosks for the selling of community goodies, and sustainable building materials (including some composed of rice husks) should ensure a distinctive shopping experience, by retail plaza standards anyway.
