Failed Woodstock MU Project Now Wellness One Stop Shop

Well, that was short-lived. The Madison Pointe development in Woodstock came out of the ground in 2007 with an ambitious plan for townhomes, mixed-use buildings, and standard standalone retail. To say the whole thing's been a flop since then would be a bit of an understatement. Businesses have come and gone, and the residential portion went largely unbuilt, due in no small part to the economic downturn and a location right next to I-575 that was less than ideal. The mixed-use buildings were torn down earlier this year, and in their place will rise a four story medical office building that could be LEED certified. Similarly, a senior living facility that opened earlier this year (HearthSide Towne Lake) took the spot of never realized townhomes. Along with a Walgreens that's remaining, this tract's undergone a dramatic reboot; goodbye aspirational town center, hello wellness zone!
