The Next Walmart Showdown: Glenwood Park

The rumor mill was put into overdrive this past June over whispers that Walmart was coming to terrorize Glenwood Park, and now it sounds like it might not have been just urban legend after all. Fuqua, (who along with Sembler Co. is leading the effort to build a much-debated Walmart in the Lindbergh area), filed plans Monday for a retail center at 800 Glenwood Avenue, which is land behind the Enso apartments that's currently home to a concrete company. Although Walmart is not officially named, the 155,000 sq ft anchor - in addition to 40,000 sq ft of neighborhood retail - sounds highly suspect. Here we go again...
