Doraville's GM Factory Redevelopment Still in the Works

Dekalb County rejected a plan two years ago to redevelop the shuttered GM plant in Doraville, but that hasn't discouraged interest in the highly visible site. Egbert Perry of the Integral Group is said to be in the lead this time around; interestingly enough, the same company currently has a hand in the redevelopment of Fort McPherson and the downtown Gulch project. Impediments include negotiating a workable price and the remediation of 60 years worth of environmental issues, but the plant's too well-located to lay deserted for much longer. [Saporta Report]
