Tower Transformation

New, 1 comment

Downtown's favorite (and mostly vacant) 1960s modernist landmark, the Equitable Building, could get an $85 million facelift — if its owners can land a big property tax break from the city. Plans would transform the 33-story tower with "a new glossy exterior; an expanded and remodeled lobby; a redesigned streetscape and plaza to complement Woodruff Park; new shops and restaurants; and a mock courtroom and conference room to attract law firms back downtown."
