As if this talk of taxing bicyclists and letting governments dictate how they ride wasn't looney enough, a tipster tells Curbed Atlanta a different team of rural Georgia legislators is cooking up a bill to tax "activities" in general. House Bill 1956, under discussion now in barns near Hiawassee, would make "jogging permits" mandatory and ban "unsightly public sweating displays" induced by "lecherous activities" like yoga or fitness boot camps. Fifty-dollar fines would double for "laptop-toting, city-dwelling hippies" whom legislators deem a threat to the Peach State's dominance of obesity rankings.
