Huge Mandarin Shell Keeps Chopping And Chopping ...

New, 5 comments

(Chop Week, our homage to Atlanta's playoff-bound, semi-racistly named baseball team, rolls on ... )

Little by little, this dream shell in the sky is falling toward affordability. Sort of. It's true that this enormous 9,023 square-foot, two-story condo atop Buckhead's luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel is for sale. And the extremely raw space — which rocks ridiculous views — has in fact dropped in price to a cool $2.795 million. It's just that the latest $55,000 chop, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't really amount to much. Nor do the series of itty-bitty chops before it. Like we said, the space hasn't been finished, but a couple of conceptual floorplans help paint the picture of how impressive it could be: a living room the size of the average Midtown loft, two master bedrooms, spiral staircases and an elevator. And the views! Gigantic terraces on either end of the suite (and on both floors) create spectacular vistas that literally reach for miles in every direction. Hell, we'd live in it — as is.
