Good news for Atlanta apartment-seekers who can't bear to part with Fido or Puss in Boots: You don't have to. From Jonesboro to Dunwoody, pet-friendly rental options abound, and why shouldn't they?
After the jump, we highlight an eclectic slate of apartments where pets are embraced — if not pampered. Apologies in advance: We tried but couldn't find an apartment complex in metro Atlanta that openly allows reptiles or barnyard animals. Surely they exist, right?
First, we travel back to that same Jonesboro complex where they don't require "experience" to live there. As in, applicants don't need to have lived anywhere else before. Anyhow, the Oak Run Apartments takes the cake for most pet-friendly Craigslist ad: "$529/ 2br - 1000ft² - We LOVE Pets!"
In Dunwoody, $770 per month bags a two-bedroom unit that's both "amazing" and pet-friendly. They include that too-cute Craigslist stamp of approval: "cats are OK – purr …. dogs are OK – woof"
Those searching for trendier apartment digs are in luck, too. You could "Live unconventionally at BOHO4W Apartments in Atlanta's historic Fourth Ward neighborhood" without having to abandon your pooch at the pound. They're pet-friendly, just like the new 77 12th tower in the heart of Midtown, with its bamboo flooring and saline pool with in-water tanning ledges. But the ultimate pet experience could go to AMLI Old Fourth Ward (and various other AMLI properties around town). Here, tenants with pets can patronize the on-site "luxurious pet spa."
