With its stock of sturdy, century-old houses, the Capitol View Manor Historic District has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials announced this week. A few miles south of downtown Atlanta, Capitol View was among the first planned subdivisions on the southside, beginning in the 1920s, as the city's explosive growth spilled southward.
