Construction on a planned multi-use trail at Dunwoody's Brook Run Park is set to begin, though the project has come under fire for the number of trees it will remove — enough to cause a judge to issue an order temporarily halting work. City officials have assured trail opponents that only 253 trees will be axed at the 102-acre park, which is home to some 12,000 trees. No trees thicker than 25 inches will be felled, officials have promised. [Reporter Newspapers]
