Suburban Poverty?

New, 1 comment

Several recent studies suggest the age-old perception that suburbs are well-to-do havens with minimal poverty isn't necessarily correct, and especially in metro Atlanta, the Saporta Report notes. Quoth one expert: "In Atlanta, the poor population in the city held steady between 2000 and 2010 while the poor population in the suburbs grew by 122 percent — more than doubling over the course of the decade." Makes the city of Atlanta's tiny population growth last decade more understandable. [Saporta Report]
