In an interview, one candidate for the Decatur City Commission (District 1) recognizes the renewed interest in Decatur from developers who want to activate projects felled by the Great Recession. But, cautions Scott Drake, any green-lighted project needs to keep the longterm interests of Decatur, and short-term happiness of neighbors, in mind.
