Downtown From Scratch

Following a unanimous City Council vote, Sandy Springs is barreling ahead with plans to build a city center almost from scratch. The downtown project, expected to cost taxpayers $84 million over the next decade, will now begin its first phase but does not include a city hall. "Go for it," said the mayor, following the vote, and a councilman replied, "It's going to be fun." [Reporter Newspapers]
