MARTA has identified five train stations ripe for new development, the first being King Memorial, where affordable housing and additional retail could be built. Other stations identified for new mixed-use developments include Brookhaven, Avondale, Hamilton E. Holmes (at the western edge of MARTA's east-west line) and Lindbergh. Regarding the downtown station, where GSU has been a driving development force, MARTA's board of directors could approve a decision to issue RFPs at its April 8 meeting. [Atlanta Business Chronicle]
