Those in the market for a luxurious Tuscan Villa penthouse/rampant gaudiness should take heed of this enormous Buckhead condo, where the price was slashed by $180,000 last month. With a design aesthetic that could be described as "graciously medieval" — is that ironwork beneath the bathroom vanity? — it's easy to see why some buyers would be turned off. Perched atop 2500 Peachtree, the recognizable 10-story European-Regency style building just north of Brookwood, this unit claims 4,374 square feet, travertine floors, a huge balcony and probably the first wine cellar we've seen in an Atlanta condo. Despite the chop, it's still pricey at $1,995,000. It's hardly the largest home in the 60-odd-unit building, as the biggest clocks in at more than 7,400 square feet. This unit last sold in 2002, two years after the building opened, for $950,000 — which could be a sign of further wiggle room with the price. The extra cash could help drag the home into this century.
