'Midtown's Finest Penthouse' Hits Market For $1.39 Million

Touted as "Midtown's finest penthouse," this light-filled unit atop the 905 Juniper building offers glass-window walls that soar to 24 feet, a feature that pretty much sets it apart in the neighborhood. This three-bedroom, three-bath showplace is roomy as a fairly large house — 2,787 square feet — and it's loaded with intriguing customizations: custom acoustical ceiling system, custom millwork cabinetry, custom kitchen and floor-to-ceiling motorized shades. The bathrooms (two are considered masters) include steam showers and heated flooring. A Crestron automation system weaves the home, as does a sound system. The unit last sold for 69 percent less — $823,100 — in 2006, when the 905 Juniper building debuted on the site of two former apartment buildings. But with a unit this unique, the seller's aspirations are understandable. Oh, sorry, the asking price ? $1,395,000.
