ATL Falcon Julio Jones' New Crib Revealed By Accident

New, 45 comments

It really is hard to get good help these days. Julio Jones, the Atlanta Falcons' young superstar receiver, had his new OTP crib revealed to the masses Tuesday after an unlucky worker doing foundation work on the Buford abode — about 8,800 square feet with a Mediterranean feel — got trapped in a hole after a retaining wall collapsed. The authorities sent out an alert when the incident started and, after responding to the massive home in the middle of suburbia, the curious metro Atlanta media solved the riddle of its new owner's identity. (The worker, by the way, suffered injuries but is going to make it). Tax records show the 23-year-old Jones copped the seven-bed, nine-bath home off Camp Branch Road in mid-April, paying a paltry $1.25 million for the 2007-built home once valued at nearly twice that much. According to listings posted prior to the most recent sale, this manse — maybe a mile from the Mall of Georgia, relatively close the Falcons' facilities in Flowery Branch — boasts a lengthy cobblestone driveway lit by "quaint street lamps," at least a dozen or so balconies, a tennis court, pool, pond and jacuzzi. Inside, there's a massive master bedroom encircled by windows and a bathroom with heated floors — not to mention entertainment rooms, an exercise room and whatever a "keeping room" is. "The entire home features an intercom system, soaring ceilings ? (and) hardwood floors," the listing said. There's also a two-bedroom, two-bath guesthouse complete with an outdoor kitchen. Not too bad for a soon-to-be third-year NFLer.
