Within the next week or so, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is expected to make a formal offer to acquire Friendship Baptist Church, the 150-year-old house of worship that stands in the way of the $1 billion House of Dirty Birds, along with nearby Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Reed says he's adamant to gain more than 2/3 approval from the congregation, and that he's almost there. Decisions by the churches will determine the stadium's placement — and likely its design, too.
