The Atlanta City Council is expected to approve $770,769 to inject the former Atlanta Journal-Constitution building downtown with creative flair, including a nine-story "sculptural element." The Marietta Street City Gallery will provide 3,400 square feet of exhibit space for local artists, which could visually improve the scabby area between Five Points and CNN Center. Said the city last summer: "Inside will be one gallery with natural light, and a second gallery with artificial light that's planned to host digital art, video and other light-sensitive projects."
