The AJC's "Private Quarters" series features the airy and serene Buckhead showplace of Candy and James Sarvis, who say they were inspired to build the 3,900 square-foot, T-shaped house after visiting the Modern Atlanta Home Tour. The property, which takes the place of a dilapidated, circa-1950 home, is awe-inspiring. The couple teamed with architects to blend Japanese Zen gardens, African teak, clean lines, strategic lighting and glass into a modernistic wonderland. [AJC]
