Novare's Latest Midtown Tower Nears Topping Out

New, 19 comments

An unofficial count from the street suggests that Novare's latest addition to Atlanta's upscale apartment wave has nearly topped out. The $63 million "100 6th St." project broke ground in January, the same month Novare's nearly identical SkyHouse Midtown opened several blocks away at the corner of West Peachtree and 12th streets. This tower (now standing about 21 stories) will eventually be 23 stories, with 320 units and nearly 10,000 square feet of retail along 6th and Juniper.

Novare modified plans to its parking garage, which has yet to come out of the ground, after original designs caused a flap with neighbors. Plans now call for six street-level retail spaces (three on 6th, three on Juniper). The four-story parking deck will offer residents 426 parking options. Original plans to include a pocket park at the corner were scrapped in favor of an 1,860 square foot retail space.

What say you, Midtowners? Are you anxious/excited/irate by the prospects of 100 6th St., now that it's taking shape? Or is just another glassy tower to house rather transient people?
