Parking Lot Bonanza

All this talk of maglev trains, Braves sweeps and fans bottlenecked in traffic recalls a thorough report in this month's Atlanta magazine called "The Other 284 Days." It's the full story of how profiteering, poverty, shortsightedness, cronyism and generally flawed renewal efforts have kept the area around Turner Field a moat of nothingness — at least for most of the year. Interesting comparisons between our baseball stadium and those in San Diego and Denver, too. [Atlanta magazine]
