Opponents of Fuqua Development's plans for a 19-acre retail center that abuts the Beltline near Glenwood Park are not mincing words. The Grant Park Neighborhood Association and other residents have filed an appeal to block Fuqua, whose big-box ambitions were approved last week by the city's planning office. "The plans we've always seen for this have been effectively the same set of plans," one neighborhood leader told CBS Atlanta. "It's a style that went out of style 20 years ago — it's suburban, big box, cookie-cutter development. It's a huge store with a sea of parking." [CBS Atlanta]
