What's Officially Not Happening At Ponce City Market

New, 3 comments

That rumor you may have heard about a possible new tenant for Ponce City Market? The one about the Atlanta branch of Creative Circus, one of the country's best advertising schools, moving there sometime in the next year or so? Yeah, that's FALSE. (That's not to say we didn't appreciate the tip-line emails). Dave Haan, executive director of the school located off Lambert Drive (which runs between I-85 and Cheshire Bridge, sort of near Piedmont Avenue), told Curbed Atlanta the whispers weren't true. "No truth to that at all," Haan said. "We extended our lease here and have been renovating." This is one Erroneous Rumor that actually was a rumor. And erroneous.

Thus far, the Old Fourth Ward's pending crown jewel — which, in case you haven't been paying attention, will be a massive mixed-use development in the old City Hall East building — has inked several tenants. These include: software firm Cardlytics, technology group athenahealth, the Suzuki School, local frame shop Binders and Dancing Goats coffee. At least those are the names that have publicly surfaced. Given the wide range of planned PCM denizens, a Creative Circus move wouldn't have been all that surprising.

The current timeline for the development (or at least the last one made public) says office, retail and restaurants will be opening mid-2014 and continuing to do so through spring 2015. Residential move-ins are slated for next summer as well.
