Buckhead's Famed 'Pink Palace' Hits Market For $7M

New, 5 comments

One of Atlanta's most storied homes has hit the market, but owning a slice of Dixie Royalty won't come cheap. The so-called Pink Palace, designed by architectural whizzes Neel Reid and Schutze, is asking $7 million. The 1920 European-style masterpiece occupies 3.5 acres in the heart of Buckhead, and the interior actually surprises: It melds grossly baroque Italian styling with modern flourishes, like a sleek attic apartment and vast geothermal system. (Still, an 18th century tapestry consumes several walls). The pool house is stunning, and the roof boasts not one, but two, terraces. Back in 2000, when the Palace owner was local businessman Pat Williams, it listed for $5.1 million.
