Zoning Kerfuffle

With an important rezoning vote on the Atlanta City Council's docket today, the Georgia Sierra Club — an early Beltline supporter — is telling Patch readers the 22-mile project's original vision is under threat by Fuqua's development near Glenwood Park. "Although detailed, community-supported plans have been prepared for transit-oriented development along the Beltline corridor," one leader writes, "the zoning has not yet been updated to reflect this, and a suburban-style Wal-mart is now proposed for a key parcel along the Southeast section of the Beltline."
