Lap of Luxury

Coldwell Banker's annual analysis of the top markets for luxury homes reveals Atlanta is number eight in the nation for active listings of homes priced over $1 million. The numbers are based on a one-year period starting in July 2013. Charlotte Sears, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Atlanta, wrote, "At one point, Atlanta was probably the second-worst market in the country behind Phoenix, but that's changed." Unsurprisingly, Buckhead and specifically the 30305 zip code, is a big factor in the recovery, tripling the number of luxury homes in the second quarter of 2014 when compared to the same period the year before. Other areas adding to the luxury listings tally include Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, East Cobb and Alpharetta. [Coldwell Banker's Luxury Market Report, Fall 2014]
