From sprawling Prairies to sleek, three-story modernist boxes, contemporary houses and townhomes are popping up left and right around Decatur and Oakhurst. That's not to say the offerings are homogenized, as this final October installment in our roundup of Atlanta's new (or fairly new) modern homes proves. We started out the month in the contemporary hot zone that is the Old Fourth Ward, then wended through Reynoldstown and Edgewood. The verdict: An intriguing mix of cutting-edge design is alive and well on the ATL home front, with some examples jibing better with the existing residential tapestry than others. But maybe blending in would defeat the purpose.
