45 Minutes from ATL, this Amazing Lodge Heads to Auction

New, 4 comments

This is where Adirondack chairs go to heaven. On Oct. 16, this Scandinavian-style log home on pretty Lake Kennemur heads to auction — with no reserve. Sprawling across 5,600 square feet, the rustic utopia has its own official name — Falling Waters Mountain Lodge — and was literally imported from Finland. Auction materials tell us world-renowned Honka Oyj designed and installed the home on two acres near Historic Ellijay, crafting it with "extremely resilient aged Arctic pines." It's located about 45 minutes from Atlanta, near 1,700 acres of unspoiled natural preserve. For autumn parties, the home boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms and about 27 terraces, patios and lakeside vantage points with pristine views. If the finishes and sinks lean a little too ornate for you city slickers, that can be remedied by getting over yourself and/or stepping outside. The estate was previously on the market for $1.8 million, but it sounds like all offers will be considered, if only momentarily. What's a fair price?
