This 'Modern Farmhouse' is Sprouting in the Middle of ATL

New, 11 comments

The lime-green front door of this urban "farmhouse" is the first clue you ain't in Winder anymore. Continuing the practice of listing almost-finished homes, this three-bedroom reno is missing a few components like mirrors and landscaping, but it gives the general idea: This is a touch of Sweden in residential Edgewood. The bones date back to 1920, but the renovation is blatantly 2014, with its futuristic faucets and reclaimed-wood flourishes. In the kitchen, the below-counter microwave smacks as odd but allows room for the range hood. The brief listing description touts "an amazing green design" here, and the accompanying photos make note of the attic, so slathered in that insulating spray-foam goop. It carries a Walk Score of 71 and sits about a block away from Target at the Edgewood Retail District. The farmhouse's $399,000 asking price is higher than some homes in the vicinity, but the 2,250 square feet is larger. So whatdya think: Yeehaw, or naw?
