Architect Homage

New, 1 comment

This month, ArtsATL memorializes Doug Allen — Georgia Tech's one and only landscape architect during his 37-year tenure — who died recently at age 64. Allen's famous "History of Urban Form" course inspired countless whiz kids in the School of Architecture, and his landscape contributions spanned from Veterans Memorial Park in Smyrna to the Birzeit University on the West Bank, Israel. Colleagues and former pupils recall Allen as a visionary and ambassador of the craft.
