These Majestic Views of ATL just got $150K Cheaper

New, 3 comments

Some of the most expansive, most awe-inspiring condo views in all of Atlanta just got 4 percent cheaper. Which means they're still in-your-dreams unattainable, but slightly less so. This upper-floor pimp palace at The Sovereign, Buckhead's tallest building, went under contract in July, when it was listed for $3.75 million; then it mysteriously popped back on the market a month later. It underwent a price chop of $150,000 last week, which should help a buyer restock the 1,200-bottle wine room or the custom exotic fish tank. On a clear day, these sky-high views span from Cobb Galleria to Stone Mountain, and we can only imagine their majesty at night. A buyer could check the traffic on Ga. Highway 400 from the north-facing balcony, nearly up to Sandy Springs. At more than 3,700 square feet, the unit is massive, with a parking lot's worth of shiny hard surfaces that beg for thick socks. Records suggest this place may belong to an Emory University professor who'd made a fortune after discovering a drug used to fight HIV. It last sold for $3.1 million, back when the building was unveiled in 2008.
