The Castle, a manse atop a two-story granite-walled base on 15th Street overlooking the Woodruff Arts Center, has been given new life — and apparently a German alter ego — as a bar called HAUS. Designed and constructed around 1910 by business magnate Ferdinand Dallas McMillan and billed as "Fort Peace," the home served for a number of years as space for artists before sitting vacant, until architect and developer Bryan "Mike" Latham purchased it in 2010. The Castle's Facebook page indicates that more is to come, with a "premier private club and boutique hotel" to open in 2015. [Atlanta INtown]
