In a Saporta Report guest column, an Atlanta consultant with deep local roots trumpets Tyler Perry's plans to revamp Fort McPherson into a movie studio complex and, in the same breath, name-drops Atlanta visionaries from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to Billy Payne to Ryan Gravel. "My bet is that 10 or 15 years from today, opportunity will have arisen from (Tyler Perry Studios) we cannot even imagine," writes John Ahmann, principal of Ahmann Inc. and a longtime city booster. "Some other Atlanta dreamer, one we cannot predict, may be growing up in Mechanicsville whose mother has a job because of (the studios)."
