Atlanta aims to transform Martin Luther King Jr. Drive into "Martin Luther King Jr. Grand Boulevard," which will be "one of the most attractive streets in America." City planners presented early concept sketches to residents earlier this week, revealing a paradise of bike lanes, leafy medians, roundabouts, art, decorative walls and pocket parks. If approved, the easier bits — things like landscaping and center medians — could be completed by 2017 with other, more time consuming elements like streetlights and bike lanes finished in five years. Now, who is going to take care of the buildings and lots that sit on this gorgeous street? [Creative Loafing]
