The Curbed Cup is Coming! Name 2014's Best Neighborhood!

New, 76 comments

It's now December, which means it's time for holiday parties, the glorious Lenox Square tree, and, most importantly, the annual Curbed Cup competition! For the last three years, Curbed readers have chosen the Atlanta neighborhood of the year, granting it the prestigious Curbed Cup trophy. But before voting can begin, we need to know the neighborhoods that are worthy of such enduring glory. So while the fake pure gold trophy is being forged, we're looking for contenders.

A full 16 Atlanta neighborhoods will face off in this year's Curbed Cup tournament, but which 16 should they be? Drop your nominations in the comments of this post or e-mail them over to us. With emails, please use the subject line: "CURBED CUP NOMINATION."

Important note: If you nominate more than one Atlanta neighborhood in the comments or an email, we'll count the FIRST ONE you provide. So please make your first choice count.

Seeding will be determined by number of nominations.

But we don't just want neighborhood names—please tell us why your neighborhood deserves to vie for the top spot. Did a new development command record-breaking prices? Did the retail scene start booming? Did a game-changing restaurant open? Terms like "best" and "greatest" are subjective, sure, but we want to know what happened in your 'hood in 2014 that makes it worthy of inclusion.

Here are the past winners:

2013: Kirkwood
2012: Old Fourth Ward
2011: Inman Park

Which neighborhood will claim the year's ultimate honor? Can Kirkwood keep the crown? Can Inman Park charge back to the promised land? Or will some dark horse triumph over them all?
