In light of Haddow & Associates' latest report, you can't blame developers for hoisting new apartment towers left and right around Atlanta. According to the real estate consultants, occupancy rates are hovering at more than 98 percent for the roughly 3,000 new units delivered since 2010 — at an average rent of just over $2 per square foot (simple math: your 1,000-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment with a den would rent for $2,000). Some projects, like Crescent Terminus in Buckhead, are bagging rents at $2.20 per square foot, among the highest in the region. H&A counts another 7,300 units in development across Atlanta, with a brain-busting 13,000 more in planning stages. [Bisnow]
