Yesterday, none other than the New York Times reported on the trials and tribulations the supporters of Silver Comet Field at Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport are facing in their battle to begin commercial flights. Detractors, including Delta Airlines, seek to block the introduction of two commercial flights per day to the itty-bitty airport, located almost 50 miles northwest of Hartsfield-Jackson. Makes you wonder why Delta cares so much — and how long Atlanta can hold the distinction of being the country's largest metro without a secondary airport.
