Krog Street Market might be a work in progress, but swarms of shoppers and diners didn't seem to mind the under-construction eateries and empty merchant stalls on a rainy Saturday afternoon. First impression: It's like an upscale, post-industrial bazaar and food court that serves really good beer. Perhaps a little cozier than expected, and with a few kinks (more food-court tables, somewhere, please), the market is a palpably fresh concept that breeds a sense of community — and pride in how this city is growing up.
