Leave it to the National Surgical Institute and Sanitarium to wax this poetic about the virtues of Atlanta. In an 1896 pamphlet, the forward-thinking institute penned their reasons for choosing to operate in our nascent metropolis. Much of this reasoning rings true today, but not all of it. These days, just as many companies cite Atlanta's "great altitude and healthfulness" as its "adroitness in mitigating snow-born predicaments." [PL]
