Visuals, Details Surface For Edgewood Mixed-Use Project

New, 27 comments

More details — and visuals — have emerged for a $54 million project proposed near the Edgewood Retail District. Plans recently submitted to Invest Atlanta show the five-story "Elan Five Points Project" is slated for just over four acres across Moreland Avenue from the Edgewood shops. The development would include 285 apartments and 16,000 square feet of ground-level retail, fronting Moreland and wrapping around on either side to Wade Street and Seaboard Avenue. As Curbed first reported in December, the site is an amalgamation of 20 or so individual parcels.

At first glance, the lone exterior rendering available depicts a building that would seem to fit well with neighboring retail, which the project would essentially run parallel with. Apartment-wise, potential tenants are looking at pretty small studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms, which are predicted to range from 605 to 1,050 square feet and rent between $1,150 and $1,700. Documents say closing on the site is expected at the end of May. At least for now, the project is pegged to an April 2016 completion date.
