Modernization Of Atlanta Continues In Edgewood

New, 5 comments

Another example of a sub-$500,000 true modern home has blipped the listings radar, this time in Edgewood. Priced at $425,000, these plans put a contemporary "dream home" within the reach of many, according to the listing agent. Blueprints for this streamlined three-bedroom hit the market two weeks ago. (It's very reminiscent of this Ormewood Park contemporary featured last week, if not a mirror image, but $74,000 cheaper). The Foote Street lot sits a few blocks south of the Candler Park/Edgewood MARTA station, in a section of the neighborhood dotted with rundown and vacant properties (thus the cheaper land, and thus the asking price.) Accordingly, perhaps, the listing notes that the entire lot and garage are "fully secure" but in a way that complements the terrain. The online floorplans aren't huge, but it would appear the home's landscaping and airy outdoor terraces were particular points of emphasis. Tax records indicate that investors scooped up the .1-acre lot last month for $60,000. A 1,200 square-foot, three-bedroom home built in 1910 last stood there.
