Building Galore

The construction industry — Atlanta's old bread-and-butter — has come roaring back so furiously there's a shortage of builders and laborers in town, the AJC reports behind its pay-wall. Building permits in metro Atlanta are expected to top 15,000 this year — a whopping 60 percent increase over 2013 — and the construction surge is visually obvious. Still, that's miniscule compared to the 60,000 permits applied for annually during the true boom years.[AJC; subscriber]
