The Virginia-Highland Civic Association's website has a personal essay written by a resident who ran some errands on his bike — down the Beltline, to the Sweet Auburn Market, with his family. The dude had a bona fide revelation: "Errands in a car are just another chore, errands on a bike is building community, it's keeping money local, it's healthy, and it's just plain fun." [VaHi.org]
