Atlanta Accolades

New, 2 comments

Men's Journal has ranked the top 20 movie theaters in the world and the Plaza Theater has made the cut, sitting proudly amongst international peers such as the Cinémathèque Française in Paris, the 1,200-seat Raj Mandir Cinema in India and London's Electric Cinema. The magazine notes that Atlanta's oldest continuously operating cinema stands out in part because new owner Michael Furlinger, who purchased the art deco gem in 2012, has upgraded the facility with plush seating, gourmet snacks and digital projection while keeping the mix of indie films, contemporary classics and Rocky Horror kitsch that Atlanta has come to love.
