Clayton County's Fort Gillem, closed since September 2011, is on its way to being redeveloped as a 7-million-square-foot manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and business park complex that could bring more than 3,000 jobs to the area. The AJC reports that the project could double Forest Park's tax base and transform it into a logistics and transportation base for the metro area. Transfer of the first 320 acres is expected on May 2. [AJC]
