Google has been whipping Atlanta technology nerds into a virtual frenzy as it considers whether to bring Google Fiber's ultra-high-speed internet to several Atlanta areas, but AT&T just made things more interesting. It has joined the fray and listed Atlanta as one of the 21 cities it is considering for its Gigapower (1 gigabit per second) internet. This is like having two sets of grandparents trying to outdo each other with gifts of bikes and cookies. Either way, we win. [cnet]
