In a move that echoes the plan for Underground Atlanta, the city wants to sell the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center to a private developer. Councilman Kwanza Hall has introduced an ordinance to turn the dated 1967 facility over to Invest Atlanta, who would then shop it. Should the right developer come along, Hall says the 380,000 square-foot center could be a catalyst for positive change in the Old Fourth Ward, possibly home to housing, retail, a hotel or offices for the burgeoning film industry.
