Video archivist British Pathé recently put 85,000 film clips dating back to the 1890s on YouTube, including several fascinating snippets of life in Atlanta. From footage of the tragic 1946 fire at Atlanta's Winecoff Hotel to the celebratory parade down Peachtree Street prior to the 1940 Gone With The Wind premiere, the films are fascinating glimpses into an age gone by. But before you head over to start exploring the searchable archive, be warned: the 3,500 hours of living history are a serious, serious productivity killer. Hope you didn't have much to do today.
