City Hall is considering a proposal to turn 32.9 acres of public land, including closed landfills and parts of Hartsfield-Jackson, into solar farms run by private company New Generation Power. (Any relation to Prince's New Power Generation? Funky solar power.) Creative Loafing has more on the plan, which could generate enough power for 525 homes and earn the city some profit off of otherwise tough-to-sell swaths of land. The sunshine farms could be up and running by the end of the year. [Image, info via Creative Loafing.]
